| Music for Healing and Transition
In 1996, Sammie became the first Certified Music Practitioner in the state of Washington to be graduated from the Music for Healing and Transition Program, and added harp to her performance repertoire. She was hired by her local hospital to visit oncology patients on a regular basis, and has since been bringing the care-giving service of live music to the patient's bedside in a number of hospitals and healthcare facilities in the northwest, throughout the U.S. and in Canada.
As a Certified Music Practitioner, she continues to serve the needs of patients in her private practice, while actively researching and documenting the healing effects of music on body, mind, emotions and spirit. Her music and findings are presented in concerts and workshops, and to date have been shared in the U.S., Europe, Canada and Mexico.
